repeating is addicting? addicting?

I noticed that most the songs that i listen to are just short little musical wonders with a loop and reloop. but when i was on youtube one day i looked up this explanation about just why the peanut butter jelly song is so popular. They said the human mind is entertained by the same sound played over and over.  I have to wonder is this true?
